Speakur is a pronunciation search and learning site. Look up a word, read the IPA, and play audio — without paid AI on every page load.
What we build
The core product is instant English pronunciation lookup. Definitions and phonetics come from free public dictionary APIs. When free dictionary clips exist, we play those first. Otherwise we use free on-demand speech (or your browser’s built-in voice) only after you click Play, then prefer cached audio on repeat visits.
Alongside the tool, we publish long-form guides on speech synthesis, accents, localization, teaching, accessibility, and responsible publishing — so Speakur is a real information resource, not a blank template farm.
